About Doricu
We started Doricu in 2018 with a straightforward goal: create online Spanish courses that actually work for busy adults.
Our founder, a language teacher with 12 years of classroom experience, noticed that traditional methods didn't fit modern lifestyles. Students needed flexibility, not rigid schedules. They wanted practical conversation skills, not just grammar rules.
We built our platform around these needs. Each course includes live video sessions with native speakers from Spain and Latin America, plus recorded lessons you can access anytime. Our curriculum focuses on real situations: ordering food, discussing work projects, understanding films without subtitles.
Since launch, we've taught 3,200 students across the UK. Our team now includes 18 certified instructors, all with university degrees in Spanish linguistics or education. We've developed 6 course levels, from complete beginners to advanced speakers preparing for DELE certification.

Our approach is simple: Small group classes (maximum 8 students), weekly one-on-one sessions with your assigned tutor, and interactive exercises that adapt to your learning speed. No gimmicks, just structured learning that respects your time.
Core Principles
- Qualified Instruction: Every teacher holds a minimum B2 English level and DELE C1 Spanish certification. Most have taught for 5+ years.
- Practical Focus: 70% of class time is conversation practice. Grammar is taught through context, not memorization.
- Flexible Scheduling: Classes run from 7am to 10pm GMT. Miss a session? Watch the recording or join a makeup class.
- Measurable Progress: Monthly assessments track your vocabulary growth, pronunciation accuracy, and conversation fluency using standardized CEFR criteria.
- Cultural Context: Lessons include regional dialects, cultural customs, and current events from Spanish-speaking countries.
We're based in London but our students come from across the UK. Whether you're learning Spanish for career advancement, travel, or personal interest, our courses provide structured support. We don't promise fluency in 30 days. We do promise consistent improvement with regular practice and guidance from experienced teachers.
